10 Things (Besides Going on your Phone) To Do When You're Bored This Summer

Hello everyone! I am almost on summer break (!!) and I had an epiphany- I'm on my phone way too much when I'm bored. I end up just looking at it anytime I'm not doing anything, which in the summer, is quite often. So, I wanted to make this list for myself and for you guys to encourage getting up and being productive this summer! Here are ten things I will be doing anytime I get bored.

1: Call a friend.

Yes, I know this is on your phone, but there is nothing like a real conversation with someone instead of a conversation via text. Better yet, go to their house and see them!

2: Go for a jog.

I want to get into running this summer so I will start (very) slow and hopefully get in good shape by the end of the summer!

3: SAT/ACT prep.

I will be a junior next year so its high time I start getting ready for these important tests. If you aren't taking any big tests, try getting ready for your classes next year on Khan Academy.

4: Read a book/magazine.

5: Paint your nails.

Nothing is more satisfying to me than a fresh coat of polish on my fingers and toes. 

6: Clean out the junk drawer.

Yes, I know you have one, probably in the kitchen somewhere. I'm sure it could stand to be organised!

7: Make a vision board.

I love these when I'm in a crafty mood. Grab some old magazines, cut out anything that inspires you, and make a collage!

8: Upcycle some old clothes.

If you have any jeans that don't fit you quite right, which I somehow end up with despite how picky I am, trying fraying them or turning them into shorts. Make a cool distressed tee! You could even go to a Goodwill and see if you get lucky and find some good denim or fun things to upcycle. 

9: Do some crazy makeup.

Trust me, I am the last one to leave the house in bold makeup, but sometimes it's fun to try on the crazier items I somehow end up with. 

10: Put some fun outfits together.

And lastly, I love trying on weird combos of my favourite pieces that I haven't tried before- often I put together an outfit that I absolutely love and end up wearing pretty often.
