Modern Preppy Outfit: Perfect First Day of School OOTD

Happy Tuesday friends!! I've been clearing out my closet for the past few days (and to no avail- still too much stuff!) and figuring out which pieces are going to be my go-tos this school year- I like to have a few good outfits that are really flattering and easy to throw on, and this will definitely be one of them!

Don't get me wrong- I love the preppy look. It's super fun and clean, and it used to be all I wore. Ask anyone- it was literally every single day. Anyway, I've gotten tired of it since then, but I'm loving the gingham at the moment so I wanted to bring it back through this adorable Jules and Leo peplum top! The clean cut of this shirt is what grabbed me, and I love the black and white on denim. Also: it was a TJMaxx find. $10!!!!

My denim skirt is by the brand Res Denim- this is the only piece I have from them but I really love the quality and the stretchiness of the fabric. It's super comfy and flattering which makes it perfect for back to school.

Accessories include my everyday jewelry (check out this post for more!) and my white low-top Converse. Makes ya look tan, they're comfy and make the outfit that little bit more casual for school. I wore a Tarte lip tint in the shade 'glitzy', which is on SALE now and is my perfect 'your lips but a little more polished' shade.
