Affordable Back To School Makeup Picks

Hi everyone! Welcome back to Fifteen Fashion, and the second post in my back to school series (catch my first one here). Today I want to share my favorite affordable makeup products for those long, hot days sitting in a stuffy classroom at school. All of these products are easy to use, comfortable and create a very natural look. Hope you enjoy!
Back to School Beauty
The first product I recommend is Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I apply this with a fluffy brush under the eyes to smooth them out and brighten up the area. I skip foundation and concealer because they clog your skin and can look cakey and fake very quickly. By using just a small amount of powder, you can ensure that your skin can breathe and there will be no transfer as your makeup fades during the day.

Now that you have a good base, the next product I recommend is the Elf Blush Palette in Light. I love this product because it is so cheap  but you get four great blush colours. Again I just use a fluffy brush and dab one of the shades on to my cheeks (the light pink is my go-to). P.S. These blushes are very pigmented, so make sure to tap excess powder off before use!

For eyes, I put a tiny amount of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade Yogurt on my finger and blend it over the inner half of my lid. This is a great product because it takes less than a minute to apply but gives the illusion of a bright, put together eye look. It is very blendable and despite the intimidating shimmer, it provides a natural glowy look.

The last two products I have to recommend completely wake-up your face without looking like you are wearing makeup. First, mascara. My fave from the drugstore has to be Maybelline Great Lash. You can either do a light coat for a school day or build it up for a fancier event or more dramatic look. As much as I love a good mascara, my current go-to is using Vaseline all over my lashes and brushing through them with a spooly. This is great because Vaseline conditions your lashes so they grow longer and thicker, while still lengthening them and darkening them slightly. Plus, you never have to worry about black mascara smudging over your face.

And finally, my favorite product for simple, natural lips is Smith's Rosebud Salve. It is very comfortable and leaves your lips feeling healthy and smooth, while still giving them a hint of pink, glossy finish. If I ever wake up late, I skip my whole routine and just put this on my lips and Vaseline on my lashes to look like I didn't just roll out of bed.
