Carry-on Bag Essentials

Hello friends! If I'm honest I'm just writing this post because I'm desperately bored waiting for my flight home from JFK which has been delayed a few times. It's situations like this that make me properly appreciate the little extra things I pack in my bag, so thought I would share what has come in handy this trip.

1. Large bag: you're probably going to end up with lots of little things you need to keep together, whether that's water, snacks, hand sanitizer, your family's passports, whatever it may be, it probably won't fit in a tiny little purse. I love the long champ le pliage totes for traveling.
2. Water bottle: it does seem like a lot of trouble to carry an empty water bottle to and from your destination but it'll save you money and keep you feeling fresh all day.
3. Portable charger: just do it. Be prepared for an emergency where you need to make a call or use Google maps at the end of a long day that ate up your whole phone battery.
4. Light scarf: this is more of a summer essential when you may not be dressed warmly enough to stay comfortable for the chilly plane or blasts of AC in the airport.
5. Other than those four main items just think of what items will make you feel a little more comfortable. For me that means hand sanitizer, hand cream, lip balm and gloss, a book or magazine, earbuds, and concealer. I didn't have all those things in my carry-on this trip and actually missed them so think ahead!!
