Life update, Motivation, Finishing the School Year Strong!

HI everyone! I know, looooong time no post. Life just got crazy the past few weeks and blogging made its way to the back burner. No worries, I am back now, and ready to start posting hopefully twice a week. Today I just wanted to sit and write- very casual, I hope that's okay!

Second semester starts next week. Crazy how fast this school year has gone by! I am very much looking forward to a fresh start, as second quarter was definitely not my best. We just had three days off for snow, which was great at the time, but is now kicking me in the booty because my teachers are cramming everything we missed into one or two days. But, that's high school. I'm a sophomore if anyone was wondering.

Every day towards 7th period I get tired, get frustrated, get annoyed, get worried, but knowing that in about an hour I will be home, in my cozy room, winding down, has never failed to get me through whatever I'm struggling with. Unfortunately last year I got caught up in some stupid drama, which for a while took over me and all I could think about was what these mean girls were saying or thinking about me. Well, I realized that is no way to live and anyone that makes me worry about myself does not deserve to be in my life!

On a more exciting note, my 16th birthday is this Thursday! I've never been one to get excited for my birthday, but this year is different for some reason. A lot of people are excited to get their licenses on their birthday, but as for me... I am ashamed to say I haven't quite made it to the DMV to get my permit!! Believe me, I hear enough about that from my friends who are already driving.
Joke's on them, driver's insurance is cheaper when you're 17. That's what I was planning this whole time (disregard the fact that I figured that out two days ago).

WEST WING SPOILER AHEAD

In other news, Mrs. Landingham just died. If you know me, you know my favorite show right now is West Wing- a 1999 TV show about the U.S. President and his staff. It's a fantastic show, and just yesterday the president's assistant died in the show. You can only imagine my distraught.

I want to end this post with a big thank you to everyone who stuck around this year, as well as to my friends and family who have been so supportive of my work. At first I was hoping no one would find this blog in fear of embarrassment, but they inevitably did and have been great about it. So, here's to a post filled, healthy and happy 2017!
xo,
Sophie
