Statement Top

Hi, everyone! Today I am going to show you how I style one of my all-time favorite tops (last season Topshop, here is a similar one). When I first purchased this I was going way out of my comfort zone. A slightly cropped, boxy denim top? It didn't sound like my cup of tea, but here I am today, constantly looking for new ways to wear it. Such a basic top is easy to pair with different accessories, but I find myself reverting back to this look most of the time.

Since I wanted this top to be the center of attention in my outfit, I kept everything else simple. I wore this with white shorts and brown sandals (which you can't see but any brown shoes would look great). I often wear this with a skirt or colored pants since I'm not bold enough for the all-denim look just yet.  The necklace above is a pointy pendant necklace (Lucky Brand, similar here) in a rustic-looking gold color, which I wear all the time because it perfectly matches the finish of my Alex and Ani bracelets.

I absolutely recommend a top like this if you see one. I love everything about it, from the fringe on the sleeves and neckline to the stiff boxy cut that sets it out from other tops. I love that it is so simple and still makes a statement: I, like everyone else, went through a HUGE statement necklace phase and this shirt reminds me of a much more versatile, simple statement necklace.
